Where does a two-time Super Bowl champion go out to eat when he’s in Boston? Well, we’re about to find out from Kyle Van Noy, linebacker for the New England Patriots.
While Van Noy may be most known for his prime blocking skills on the field, he also happens to be the host of his very own YouTube show, Elite Eatz, as part of his Vibin' with Van Noy's channel. The online series, which just returned for a second season now that he’s back in Foxboro, follows the NFL player and his teammates as they visit restaurants around town (and the 'burbs) to talk food and football.
Given his love of the local dining scene, we wanted to know his top picks for Boston’s best eateries—and luckily, No. 53 was more than willing to share. Here are his 5 favorite spots in the city, complete with menu suggestions that you can also try to tackle at each place:
“The North End has some of my favorite restaurants in the city. My go-to spot is Arya Trattoria, whether we’re eating there or getting something to go. My all time favorite dish of theirs is the Chicken Parmigiana. You can’t beat it.”
"On an off day, we love to head into the city for lunch outdoors at Abe & Louie's. I love a good burger, so I usually go for the 9oz Prime Cheeseburger with hand-cut fries, of course.
Mooo:
"One of our favorite date-night spots is Mooo in Beacon Hill. We’re big fans of the Columbus Hospitality Group restaurants. The bone-in prime rib dry-aged ribeye and a variety of sides—there are too many to list—is what I’ll be ordering."
"I’ve become a huge fan of Tuna Tartare since living in New England, and one of my favorites is the Bluefin ‘Coyne’ Crostini Tartare from Neptune Oysters. Obviously, I always have to get their oysters every time we’re there too."
"People may not think of ordering avocado toast at Select Oyster Bar, but they have one of the best avocado toasts in the city. Make sure you order yours with fresh lobster on top!"
