“Chowda Day” is a real thing, it’s back for another year, and Legal Sea Foods is celebrating with a dollar cups of chowder all day in Boston and around the Bay State.
Last year, City Council President Ed Flynn proclaimed a new “legal” holiday, making January 15 “Chowda Day” in Boston and it’s back for another year. To celebrate, every Legal Sea Foods will be offering their famous New England clam chowder for a dollar. On top of that, the proceeds from “Chowda Day” will be donated to support life-saving research at Boston Children’s Hospital.
“Our New England Clam Chowder is a beloved part of Boston’s heritage,” said Matt King, Legal Sea Foods Brand President and COO, in a release. “Legal Sea Foods is thrilled to continue the Chowda Day tradition and give back to help kids at Boston Children’s Hospital. We are grateful for the ongoing support of our cherished guests and extraordinary restaurant team who continually surpass expectations and make it possible to do what we do.”
In 2023, Legal Sea Foods donated $100,000 of proceeds raised directly from “Chowda Day” and gift card promotion to advance the hospital’s groundbreaking research efforts.
