Prince William and Kate Middleton, now officially known as the Prince and Princess of Wales, are in Boston this week!

This is not only their first visit to the United States since 2014, but also their first visit to Boston. They arrived today and will stay until Friday for the Earthshot Prize Awards.

Kensington Palace announced that they will be making a few stops around town including meeting with Mayor Michelle Wu, visiting the green tech startup incubator, Greentown Labs, in Somerville and a non-profit called Roca in Chelsea.

They will be making most of these visits as a team, but on Friday they will be splitting up for separate stops. Kate will visit the Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University and Prince William plans to visit the F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

Environmental issues have always been a huge focus for Prince William’s father, King Charles. Charles has been a key proponent of not only green energy, but of also conservation for most of his adult life. Therefore, it appears that Prince William is looking to follow in his footsteps. The Earthshot Prize winners will receive $1 million to aid in their efforts in “protecting nature; cleaning the air; reviving the oceans; building a waste-free world, and fixing the climate” according to Boston.com.

The royals will attend the Earthshot Prize Awards on Friday at MGM Music Hall.
