David Ortiz launched his own cannabis line yesterday. Big Papi teamed up with locally owned cannabis company, Rev Brands, to launch Papi Cannabis.

Unlike many other recreational cannabis lines, Ortiz wanted to put wellness at the core of his new venture. “Once I embraced the flow of the flower everything changed,” says Ortiz. “Cannabis has helped me relax, sleep better, manage stress and heal physically after a lifetime of playing ball, and I look forward to sharing Papi Cannabis and my personal journey to help people understand its benefits.”

Oritz celebrated the launch with a party last night in Cambridge, just a day after the celebrations at Fenway Park for his induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. So this should explain why we have all been seeing so many number 34 jerseys around town this week!

“Sweet Sluggers” is the first product to become available as part of the Papi Cannabis line. These are pre-rolled blunts filled with strains like Black Mamba #7, Lava Cake #7, Motorbreath #15 and Bootylicious #4. They are rolled in non-tobacco blunt wrappers made with tea leaves and hemp.

“We are thrilled that David chose Rev Brands to work with him on this very special product line. David was extremely involved in the development process and selected some of his favorite strains,” says Tom Schneider, Chief Marketing Officer of Revolutionary Clinics. “It’s been incredible to learn about David’s cannabis journey and the benefits he’s experienced far beyond just recreational use.”

Sweet Sluggers are available at all three Revolutionary Clinics in Cambridge and Somerville and can also be purchased at many other dispensaries in Massachusetts.

Oritz and Rev Brands are planning to launch many other products in the coming weeks and months, including things like hash-oil infused, pre-rolled blunts, a vape cartridge, an edible made from free-trade Dominican chocolate and a healing salve.
