A new hotspot just opened on Boston’s waterfront. Joia Restaurant & Lounge at the Harborside Inn is Boston’s newest Italian restaurant and trust us it is worth a visit.
Owned by Italian immigrant Gianmarco Rinaldi, Joia is an all-day dining destination. Having grown up in Naples, Italy, Rinaldi has brought his passion for Italian cuisine to Boston. He lives in the North End and most recently managed Trattoria il Panino and was mentored by North End restaurateur Frank DePasquale.
Taking what he has learned over the years from DePasquale and his teams at North End favorites like Bricco and il Panino, Rinaldi aims for Joia to be a destination on the waterfront for quality Italian cooking, with a modern twist.
The dinner menu features classics like Carbonara and Arrabbiata alongside Italian American favorites like Chicken Parm and Sirloin Steak tips. But don’t forget that Joia is also open for breakfast in lunch, come in for eggs and other goodies when you need something a little more substantial than Dunkin.
Besides all this amazing food, expect some exciting things late night as well. Come in for late-night lounge vibes 11pm-1am Thursday through Saturdays. But enjoy craft cocktails including all the signatures, Aperol Spritz, Espresso Martinis and Negronis inside or outside on their patio every day of the week!
There is a 16-seat bar, a dining room that seats 60 and a patio that seats another 24 guests overlooking the Greenway.
Joia Restaurant opened on April 21 at 195 State Street in the Financial District, just steps from the waterfront. And if you are now in the mood for Italian food, check out our guide to the best Italian restaurants in Boston for lots of places to check out.
