A ferris wheel rises over the Charles River: Boston Calling is back.
The three-day music festival is going on now, as it has most every year since 2013: With big-name artists and local acts across multiple stages, tons of local food options, and Instagrammable installations like that iconic ferris wheel. This year’s fest returns to the Harvard Athletic Complex with four color-coded stages, including locals-only Orange; and maybe one of the wackier installations in fest history: the two-story House of Dunkin’.
Global superstar Ed Sheeran caught a Celtics playoff win ahead of his Friday headlining set. Saturday saw country favorite Tyler Childers take the stage; and The Killers closed things out on Sunday, May 26. (Some lucky Bostonians caught the millennial rock legends on Saturday night at the Paradise, a 900-capacity venue just down the road from the festival in Allston! ) Undercard artists are just as impressive, including Megan Thee Stallion, Leon Bridges, Trey Anastasio, Reneé Rapp, Khruangbin and more. Not to mention dozens of local food vendors like Jaju Pierogi, FoMu Ice Cream and new this year: the Macbar by Stillwater and Sloane’s chef Sarah Wade.
Photographer Nicole Melich of Melich Media is there to catch all the action and share her images with Time Out. Here’s your exclusive look at Boston Calling 2024. Photos will be updated throughout the weekend.
