The atmosphere of the Marlowe is laid-back, unpretentious and fun. The early evening complimentary wine hour - an institution of the California-based Kimpton chain - offers the opportunity to unwind and meet other guests in the lobby lounge, with its huge fireplace. Although the hotel feels removed from the main cultural and commercial areas of the city, it's only a short walk and a subway stop to the excellent restaurants and funky nightlife of Central Square. If you don't feel like commuting, Bambara restaurant is a decent dining option also frequented by non-residents. Some of the rooms offer wonderful views over the river.
