Occupying a converted warehouse at a prime downtown address, the sister hotel to the Charlesmark in Back Bay is one of the city's best bargains. Guest rooms feature atmospheric exposed brick walls and simple, classic furnishings, such as mahogany sleigh beds and handwoven Middle Eastern rugs, plus the usual modern amenities. The lobby - a bright, eight-story atrium - is gorgeous. Although the building once bordered the harbour, due to the changing coastline there are no water views: just the bustle of business-oriented State Street and the lively bar scene around Faneuil Hall.
