Onno originally started in BourjHammoud, but has since expanded into Badaro and (soon) to Hamra. From modest beginnings under the highway to smart marble topped tables in Badaro they have kept the crucial ingredient – some of the best Armenian food in the city. The original branch is still TOB’s favorite for it’s wonderfully quaint authenticity, although space is limited but gives that wonderfully homely quality. Although it’s not what you’d describe as high class dining, the quality of food rivals an establishment far pricier. The menu at Onno has broad selection of hot and cold mezze, all of which has the true taste of one of Lebanon’s most culinarilyimportant ethnic backgrounds. ToB recommends the Muhammara, the basterma and quail's eggs and the kibbeh nayehbut it is well worth ordering some of Onno’s other Armenian Specialties.
