It's a full day of yoga for a good cause (in addition to the benefits for your mind and body, that is), with the second edition of Yoga Day by DiR. From 9am to 9.30pm you can join in on yoga sessions in two different spaces in Plaça Rosa dels Vents outside the Hotel W, so there will be two classes going on at the same time throughout the day. The main space, which can take around 1,000 yogis, is where the big, general sessions will be held, while in the smaller space, suitable for around 20 practitioners, you'll find specialised sessions.
The event features sessions of different styles of yoga, such as Hatha Raja, Vinyasa, Kundalini, and acroyoga, among others. And there's room for all levels and intensities, including in the introduction class or the masterclass at the end with Jordi Canela, cofounder of YogaOne by DiR. When the day of yoga is done, there will be a free concert in the same seaside space as the yoga classes by Kirtan, with devotional songs accompanied by instrumental music.
All proceeds go to provisions for drinking water, the creation of sanitation facilities and the promotion of hygiene practices that UNICEF is developing in Africa and the Middle East.
