Fundación Setba looks back at the history of nightclub Sidecar with this third exhibition revealing the past lives of Barcelona's Plaza Real: 'From La Vanguardia to Sidecar'. 'La Vanguardia' has long been one of Barcelona's leading daily newspapers, and this exhibition looks at its humble beginnings at the end of the 19th century in the city centre square, where its editorial offices were located. After the newspaper moved on, the space became the Texas bar known for its working women and popular amongst sailors of the US Sixth Fleet, which regularly docked in Barcelona. As part of the show, on Thursday 27 November at 7.30pm, journalist and writer Xavier Theros will host a conference and guided tour explaining how Barcelona was during the period that the US Sixth Fleet visited the city (1h30, free).
