Saudade, in the Poblenou neighbourhood, is all about taking risks, and so are its Italian owners, Stefano and Chiara. They opened their shop in the middle of an economic crisis (2011) and it wasn't even on the ground floor where foot traffic can pass by, and in Stefano's case, he doesn't follow the usual styles. The location was chosen specifically to not be just another tattoo shop, like any old place that sells churros: 'We want clients to come to us, not to come just to get a tattoo,' Stefano says. He still studies so that he can do what he wants, which is to apply painting techniques to tattooing. The results are stunning. For her part, Chiara was born tattooing: 'When I was ten years old I tattooed myself,' she says with a laugh. She's a woman with clear ideas and boundless talent that she applies to a neotraditional style. Choose your artist...
