This exhibition takes you on a fascinating journey to get to know the flora and fauna from nine million years ago. During that time, the interior of the Iberian peninsula was populated by countless animals that are extinct today, among which a great predator stood out above all: the sabre-toothed tiger, a feline with a specialised constitution to kill large prey. 'Sabre-toothed cats and mastodons' contains 160 original pieces, many of them integrated into eight anatomical assemblies, in addition to the complete shell of a giant tortoise, two complete skulls of sabre-toothed tigers, and a mastodon skull and jaw. The exhibition aims to highlight the extraordinary importance of these unique finds in the world.
