In recent years the neighbourhood of Poblenou has become Barcelona's district of artistic and creative innovation par excellence. It's an area that's thriving with old warehouses and restored factories living alongside modern buildings of the latest generation.
To make it more visible and accessible, the Poblenou Urban District is putting on heaps of activities having to do with art, creativity, gastronomy, theatre arts and music, brought to you by the spaces that make up their community, many of them normally closed to the public but open their doors on this sixth edition of the Open Day. You're invited to get to know some of the most emblematic spaces and projects in Poblenou between noon and 11pm.
Art galleries, creative centres, artist studios, ad agencies, audiovisual producers, showrooms, gastronomic spaces, shops, cocktail bars, hotels and restaurants join in, offering a programme with plenty of free things to do and special promotions, with creativity as the driving force, and all organised specially for the occasion.
You'll also find the Makerspaces Circuit, the Windows Arte Circuito (WAC) and the Urban Hub. The Makerspaces Circuit was conceived as a journey through some of the areas of research in technology that make up the creative fabric of Poblenou which aims to make visible the network of creators working for a new city model that promotes all things local, collaborative and sustainable. The objective of the WAC is to promote a selection of artists from various disciplines who will exhibit their works and show up in some of the open spaces. The Urban Hub (Pujades, 86) is the place for all creators to meet up throughout the Open Day: from noon to 11pm there will be live art, DJ sessions, a gastronomy space, cocktail area, and conferences linked to art, among many other goings-on.
Finally, this year's edition sees the premiere of four exclusive and free workshops that will show off the art and creativity of Poblenou.
