P.I.G.S.: Art and activism as a catalysts of society

P.I.G.S. is the acronym of Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain, four of the countries in the Mediterranean area. The idea of the P.I.G.S. project is to address the language of the current crisis by reflecting on the economic crisis and the neo-liberal politicians that are affecting the social make-up in those countries. In Rome, Athens, Lisbon and Barcelona there will be various urban interventions, discussions, performances, exhibitions and debats, as well as a video session, which will be the same in all the cities. The inherent aim of the P.I.G.S project is to promote initiatives that create an interface between the local context and institutional centres of art, incorporating realities already rooted in each country.
