Monday brings you to the streets of old Barcelona for an extraordinary parade. While you may have seen the gegants (giants) standing around in a museum, or walking along in a parade, what you don't want to miss now is their appearance in colourful costumes as they dance along the streets. They'll be competing for the most original costume, so displays of imagination and humour are guaranteed. This year the xambanga sets out from the Maritime Museum towards Plaça de Sant Jaume, where the giants will spend the night.
