Mercè 2013: Seguici inaugural parade

Festival protocol states that during the opening remarks, the inaugural parade should set out from the Palau de la Virreina. The main participants in the parade will have congregated in the Virreina, and at 7pm they head out to march along to Plaça de Sant Jaume. You'll see devils with flaming torches, drummers, the bigheads, giants, horses and other animals such as an eagle, a lion and a mule. Get familiar with the beasts and creatures you'll see throughout Barcelona's citywide festival.
