Under the big top at Port Vell you can immerse yourself in 'Meet Vincent van Gogh', a multi-sensory experience created by the experts at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, and where you can get up close to the works and life story of the Dutch master in a way you never have before.
This is not just any museum exhibition, though – it's in a 1,500 m2 tent divided into six spaces where you can see and touch the pieces, and even listen to thoughts Van Gogh wrote down. 'Meet Vincent van Gogh' includes reproductions of original artworks so you can touch and trace the brush strokes, and there are projections to scale, photos, video fragments, detailed reproductions, interactive animations, theatre sets, and pieces of more than 800 letters.
During your visit you'll find out about various people including the artist himself, his brother Theo, his sister-in-law Johanna Bonger, his mother, and others who played a key role in his life. You can also travel to places that influenced the painter, such as Café du Tambourin in Paris, the Saint-Rémy hospital and the yellow house in Arles.
