La Mercè without cars

European Mobility Week and Car Free Day come together for the first time during Barcelona's La Mercè celebrations to remind us that good practices in terms of mobility help improve air quality and reclaim public spaces.

To that end, on Saturday, September 22 from 10am to 2pm, Via Laietana becomes a car-free space. Instead of the usual traffic and noise, you'll find classes of Tai chi, yoga, circus performances and swing dancing, a roller disco, a skate park, and recycling workshops related to sustainable mobility.
