It wouldn't be a Mediterranean festival without the sound of firecrackers in the streets and the smell of gunpowder in the air. And apart from the fire that the groups of devil dancers create for the 'correfocs', La Mercè just wouldn't be La Mercè without its Piromusical final all-out firework and music display. The Piromusical, a great farewell that's full of fun, light and sound, has become one of La Mercè's most cherished traditions, and is well-attended every year. This time around, the event celebrates dates such as 50 years since the Beatles' final concert – in 1969 on the Apple Records building rooftop in London; 20 years since the Gran Teatre del Liceu; and 75 years since the death of big band leader Glenn Miller. And to toast Beirut, the guest city of La Mercè 2019, you'll also be treated to Arabic music. A pleasure for all the senses!
