La Mercè 2019: Human tower day

This is also an important place to be for the groups who participate throughout the day, as this year they're getting together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Castellers de Barcelona. Tower builders from every corner of Barcelona share their passion with festivalgoers and demonstrate that, although the proud Catalan tradition of castellers was born in southern Catalonia, some of its best practitioners today can be found in the capital city.
