It wouldn't be a Mediterranean festival without the sound of firecrackers in the streets and the smell of gunpowder in the air. And apart from the fire that the groups of devil dancers create for the 'correfocs', La Mercè just wouldn't be La Mercè without its Piromusical final all-out firework and music display. The Piromusical, a great farewell that's full of fun, light and sound, has become one of La Mercè's most cherished traditions, and is well-attended every year. This time around, the event takes on a Portuguese theme, and feature musical selections related to the city of Lisbon. The event will also commemorate May 1968, as well as the 50-year anniversary of jazz in Barcelona, and celebrate the best music of La Mercè this year.
