The sky over Barceloneta beach shines with light and colour over two nights as part of the 21st annual International Pyrotechnic Festival. Grupo Luso Pirotecnia and Nazih Tabbara Fireworks participate in the event this year. The former hails from Lisbon, but has strutted its stuff around the world, and now they bring to Barcelona their show of light and fire that's wowed Europe, Asia and the Americas. The latter, based in Lebanon, has a rich 120-year history and, they themselves say they're responsible for bringing pyrotechnic arts to the Arab world.
