Gelato Festival 2019

Who says ice cream is only for summer? Not us! Especially when the weather's as warm as it is here in Barcelona at the start of autumn. The Gelato Festival doesn't think so either, as they're setting up camp in the Parc del Fòrum the weekend of October 5 and 6 with a competition – organised by the Italian ice cream sector – where 16 of the best gelato artisans in Barcelona hope to win with their brand-new flavour creations. Whoever wins the competition (as voted by the public) will go on to represent Barcelona in the Gelato Festival World Masters of 2021.

The best of all is that for just €10 you can try all 16 flavours! And everyone in attendance has the chance to enjoy everything that has to do with the world of ice cream, from tastings to entertainment and even workshops – it's all based around three big food trucks set up in the Parc del Fòrum. It's worth it to see the Buontalenti, the world's biggest mobile gelato production lab. You'll be like kids in an ice cream shop!
