Sant Antoni is putting on Barcelona's first Festa Major of the year with its own big, ten-day-long street fair extravaganza. From Friday January 15 to Sunday 24, the neighbourhood fills up with activities for all. Highlights of the first days are the parades and opening ceremony, and on Saturday 16 the parade starts in the Jardinets de l'Alguer (11.30am); the 20th People's Photo Contest (11am-2pm) is on in the Espai de Fotografía Francesc Català-Roca; the fourth craft beer fair is on in C/Viladomat, between Floridablanca and Tamarit; and you can also check out the 12th edition of the Sant Antoni Reggae Splash. On Sunday 17 get ready for the 38th Fun Run (9.30am); the 'Save the Teatre Arnau' walk that starts at Mercat de Sant Antoni (11am); swing dancing in the Plaça Raquel Meller after the walk; a market featuring illustration artworks (2pm-6pm) organised by Mad Market and Caravela Gourmet in the tent on Av Mistral (between Entença and Vilamarí). Tuesday 18 brings you a Catalan rumba class (5pm) in the Cotxeres Borrell civic centre and a poetry marathon (5pm) in the Golferichs civic centre.
