Festa Major de Gràcia 2018: Pregó d'Elena Carreras

The feminist calling of this year's Gràcia Festival starts with the opening speech ('pregó'), given by Dr. Elena Carreras, head of obstetrics and gynecology at the Hospital Vall d'Hebron and recognised by the prestigious American magazine 'Forbes' in 2014 as the best professional of her specialty in Spain, as well as an active member in the community life of Gràcia since she was 15 years old. The district of Gràcia and the Festa Major Foundation show their pride for a neighbourhood woman who has achieved professional excellence this year, instead of having the pregó performed by someone with a more public profile.
