Diwali 2017

Diwali is the Indian New Year, which celebrates the victory of good over evil, and the pathway to light and virtue. It's also called 'the festival of lights' because of the tradition of turning on lights or lighting candles. Celebrate this New Year at Diwali Barcelona 2017 at the Casinet de Hostafrancs, first with the ritual of Pooja, an act that pays homage to Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity. The celebration gets underway at 6pm with activities for kids. Afterward there's an offering of fruit and flowers to the goddess Lakshmi, and following that you can enjoy music and dance performances from members of the Indian Culture Centre.
