Time Out says

From December 22 to January 4, Plaça de Catalunya is transformed into a festive space with activities linked to the Christmas, New Year, and Kings' holidays. You'll find shows and sporty activities for all ages, urban art activities for young people, and other types of games and fun stuff to do for the littlest ones under the umbrella of the show called 'Un pas de pardal' (literally 'A sparrow's step', meaning one small step), which acts as a stage for seven spherical settings called the 'Ingravidolles'. The activity starts each day with the story of the 'Fanaler de Nadal' who sets the Christmas lights aglow, and leads into other stories on each stage, with the leitmotiv of the feeling of weightlessness and the sensation of being inside a bubble because Christmas is coming. Each of the bubbles represents one of the 800,000 homes in Barcelona. To close out the show, each day the bubbles are coordinated to work at the same time, creating a visual and festive show.
