On June 16 and 17 from 10am to 7pm, you can check out the third edition of the Maker Faire Barcelona, a programme from Sónar+D, IaaC Fab Lab Barcelona, and Soko Tech, co-organised with Make Magazine, Feria de Barcelona and IN(3D)DUSTRY, which sets up in the Italian Pavilion at the Fira Barcelona (with some of the conferences in the CaixaForum on the 16th from noon to 6pm) as the biggest meeting of the worldwide movement of digital creation, with hundreds of local and international makers sharing projects and knowledge via live demos and workshops focusing on creativity, innovation, and leading technologies.
Engineers, artists, designers, hackers, artisans and scientists present their most advanced projects within the framework of society 4.0, with Barcelona as the central headquarters of the event, whose common thread is a city that's productive, self-sufficient and sustainable. The programme is grouped into areas that identify the big social and economic challenges facing cities today: food, energy and mobility, advanced manufacturing, education and learning, environment and health. And there's an area dedicated to space celebrating 25 years of Sónar.
