Swing dancers from 15 countries are in Barcelona for the fourth year of Barcelona Lindy Exchange, a festival organised by the not-for-profit association BCNswing. For four days (Sep 15-18) the festival puts on dances and cultural activities around the city.
Things get going on Thursday the 15th with a party at the classic cocktail bar Merbeyé, at the foot of Tibidabo, where the band Acoustic Guiri Explosion performs. On Friday the 16th you can catch a jam where you can dance to the beat of the band The Black Mambas at the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, where beforehand festival participants will have the opportunity to get a guided tour of the modernista site. At 9.30pm the Pin-up/Army swing party gets underway in the Espai Jove La Fontana, in Gràcia, where the band Doc Scanlon International All Stars will play.
On Saturday the 17th at noon you'll find a space to dance at the free concert from Rita Pagès & Joan Chamorro Group & Enrique Oliver and Joan Codina, as part of the Jazz de Sant Andreu festival. At 8.45pm at Fabra i Coats, you'll find a party kitted out like a clandestine meeting of the mafia. Sunday the 18th at 7pm is the closing concert with Sunset Rhythm Kings at Port Olímpic.
