From June 12 to 20 Barcelona gives itself over to more than 100 activities that have to do with the world of design, innovation and creativity, and becomes the place to be for companies and professionals from various design fields. This 14th edition of Barcelona Design Week invites you to enjoy a programme full of creativity with exhibitions, workshops, open days, conferences, roundtables, presentations and parties.
Co-organized by the FAD (Foment de les Arts del Disseny, 'Promotion of the Design Arts') and the BCD (Barcelona Centre de Disseny, 'Barcelona Design Centre'), the theme this year is 'Transitions', including a transition from a linear economy model to a circular one for an ecologically sustainable world. Plus, looking at cities as a complex environment, and trying to balance smart cities and technology with making people's well-being a priority. Design is an important field to look to if we want to achieve these goals. This edition of BDW poses the question, How should everything around us be designed in order for this desired transition towards a circular economy to occur, for this change toward more just and developed societies to evolve and to put our world in its natural balance?
This edition of the BDW will be one of the most international yet, with speakers and experiences from Singapore, Brazil, Argentina and Italy. You can consult the BDW website for the full line-up of events and activities.
