Argentina Independence Day Party

On July 14, Poble Espanyol gets kitted out in blue and white, the colours of the Argentinian flag, for this festival that aims to bring together the Argentinian community in Catalonia to celebrate the South American country’s Independence Day, which was on July 9. From 2pm to midnight, you’ll find activities for the whole family, tango performances, folklore, ‘murga’ (a popular Argentinian musical theatre), and live concerts by two Argentinian music stars: Juanse from the band Ratones Paranoicos and Bahiano, the original voice of Los Pericos. And of course you can sink your teeth into a variety of traditional Argentinian cuisine.
