It's here at last! The 33rd Salón Internacional del Cómic de Barcelona (International Comic Fair) is on from April 16 to 19 in Palau 2 and Plaça Univers of the Fira de Barcelona. Just like every year, you can expect big names in national and international authors of comics and graphic novels, as well as conferences, workshops, exhibitions, and a space where the authors will be signing their works. Some of those confirmed to appear are Milo Manara, José Luis García López, David Finch, FrederikPeeter, Brian Tal, Mary M. Talbot, Jérémie Moreau, and Branden Lamb, Shelli Paroline and Ryan North, creators of 'Adventure Time'.
As far as the exhibitions go, expect one dedicated to sci-fi and heroic fantasy comics; monographs dedicated to the Joker and Captain America (who are each turning 75); and shows featuring prize-winners from the last edition: Miguel Gallardo, Paco Roca, Clara Soriano and 'Arròs Negre'. The Gat Perich International Humour Prize (Premi Internacional d'Humor Gat Perich) will also be awarded during the fair, and there will be an exhibition dedicated to the work of Jaume Perich (the award is given in the Catalan cartoonist's memory).
Be sure also to check out the Cosplay contest, educational activities and kids' area.
