Dir: Joan Maria Segura i Bernadas. With: Karen Gutiérrez, Manuel Ramos, Didac Flores (piano)
It's nice to see a simple idea work, take off and triumph. 'Lo tuyo y lo mío' ('Yours and Mine') is so simple and full like a good pop chorus. It's the story of boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, they hit a rough patch, boy cheats on girl –with another boy– and goodbye happy ever after. And it's all told with a series of songs that are as catchy as chicken pox in a day care centre. The lyrics of hits from Shakira, Rafael, Julio Iglesias, the Zombies, Karina, Delafe, Rocío Jurado and more tell the tale of the the romantic comedy without the need for subtext or double meanings.
Joan Maria Segura applies the experience he gained with Egos Teatre to make tis fantastic jukebox flow and get to the audience fresh and ready, so we can revel in the frivolity and singing-and-acting talents of Karen Gutiérrez, Manuel Ramos and the phenomenal Didac Flores. (Musical. Mainly in Spanish.)
