For the second time, the great French actor Isabelle Huppert performs in Barcelona. We have to go back to 2005 for her first time here as Hedda Gabler at the Teatre Lliure. This time she's here with one of her favourite directors, the minimalist American director Robert Wilson. And there's no better choice than Huppert, with a long career in theatre, television and film and who's worked with some of the biggest directors in the US, Europe and Asia, to play the part of María Estuardo. This is the second monologue that Huppert has done with Wilson, after 'Orlando', which premiered in 1993. They also made a memorable 'Quartett' in Paris, with Ariel García-Valdés, which everyone who saw it still carries in their memory. This play is in French.
Conception, direction, set design and lighting: Robert Wilson. Cast: Isabelle Huppert. Musical composition: Ludovico Einaudi. Text: Darryl Pinckney.
