Estudi Studio

Estudi Studio is a project from Francesc Grau, fashion designer, teacher and one half of the creative team behind the Menchén Tomás brand for more than 20 years. 'I start from zero, with a small collection, without fashion shows or fairs,' he tells us. A space opened up in C/Elisabets and he knew it had to be his studio, and his shop. In the loft there's a work table where patterns and rolls of fabric pile up; this is quality fabric, from local suppliers, but small producers. 'I make two or three models for each fabric, and from there come eight or ten pieces,' Grau says. This is how to be exclusive and avoid unnecessary stock as well. In the shop, under the Goula Figuera light, Grau has brought interesting brands together: Ana Tichy, always on point with prints, like Italians Attic and Barn, and Momona. Highlights among accessories include Hent bags, espadrilles from Toni Pons, jewellerey from Gonzalo Cutrina and Domingo Ayala, and a collection of ceramics from Almería.
