If you're the type who doesn't like to miss a thing, you might have already heard of, or even been to, the pop-up spaces created by Corona Mexican beer around Barcelona in recent years. These experiences have been so successful that the brand has decided to settle in with its own permanent venue in the city. Welcome to Vista Corona, where the name says it all: the vistas, or views, from the spacious terraces are spectacular. With the Mediterranean at your feet, you can take in the panoramic view of the seaside façade that runs all along Passeig de Colón to Montjuïc mountain. The secret is the location. Vista Corona is at the end of Passeig de Joan de Borbó, just next to the One Ocean Port Vell marina, an area surrounded by palm trees that's ideal for re-creating a tropical spirit that distinguishes this space from others. And it's not just refreshing drinks and delicious Mexican food you can enjoy in this lovely setting. They also invite you to relish life, making the most of your time with yoga or painting classes, or watching artists perform live music. Plus, they really do their part to look after the environment, because at Vista Corona you can even pay for a Corona beer with plastic you've picked up off the city beaches. It's true! They've also got a location in Sitges, right on the Passeig de la Ribera. Intrigued? Read on for more details.

All that Vista Corona Has to Offer

1. Terraces at sunset and stylish corners

When you head into Vista Corona, you'll be transported to a natural paradise where you can disconnect from routine and reconnect with nature. The interior of the restaurant-bar is decorated with warm wood tones and filled with stylish corners and a relaxed vibe. The best part is the impressive vertical garden hanging from its walls. Once outside, Corona in hand, you can enjoy two equally spectacular terraces. One is out front, standing on a large wooden platform and surrounded by lush greenery. The other is a complete chill-out zone, with love seats, enormous pouffes, super comfy sofas... It's the perfect setting to admire views of the city and the sea.

2. Authentic Mexican flavours

The kitchen at Vista Corona brings the most current Mexican cuisine to Barcelona. True to tradition, where the tacos – revisited, of course – are the indisputable kings. You can get them filled with steak, chicken tinga, 'cochinita pibil' pork, or  prawns, to name a few. Favourites among the starters are guacamoles and the fresh ceviche. You'll also find vegetarian and vegan options, as well as gluten-free dishes. That said, the jewel in the crown is an interesting offer for dessert: the Oreo taco. The reality surpasses anything you might be imagining, it's truly incredible.

3. Cocktails with beer

The expert bartenders are really mixing things up with cocktails like the Corona Sunset, with gin, passion fruit and Corona beer; the Corona Blackberrydream, which adds tequila and blackberry liqueur to the beer; and the Corojito, with rum, fresh mint, lime and Corona. If you don't want to branch out with a beer cocktail, definitely try the standard margarita, which is out of this world. And drinks without alcohol are equally refreshing: in addition to soft drinks, smoothies and frappés, they serve up hibiscus tea, lemonade, horchata and tamarind tea.

4. Daytime temptations

Vista Corona is open during the daylight hours, and it's definitely worth heading over while the sun's shining so you don't miss out on any of the activities that are on all year round. Tune in to their Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to always be in the know. Just to give you one example, you'll find yoga classes on the beach followed by brunch, which, by the way, is no laughing matter, with eggs benedict, bagel with avocado, pancakes, yoghurt bowls, churros with chocolate and more.

5. Exquisite sunsets

There's no better place to enjoy the sunsets in the city with a fresh cold Corona. Listen out for the ringing of the bell signalling it’s sunset hour and time for a free Corona! Stretch out on the chill-out sofas and enjoy watching as the sky changes from blue to pink and orange behind the city.

6. Nocturnal rhythms

Because life has little meaning without music, Vista Corona brings you live music Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 9pm. Plus, on Sundays there's a DJ playing tracks from 4pm to 9pm. If you're among those who can't stop moving your dancing feet, there's nothing better than the Live DJ Set, every Friday and Saturday night from 10.30pm, featuring the best sounds of deep house, Balearic beats and electronica.

7. Pay with plastic!

Not only is Vista Corona a plastic-free zone, but it's also a place where you can pay with plastic. We're not talking about credit or debit cards, but plastic litter that you pick up from the beach. During the summer, for every littered plastic bag you've collected from the beach, you'll get a cold Corona, for free! What could be better than enjoying a cold Corona whilst also doing your bit for the environment?

8. Also in Sitges

Once you've checked out the Vista Corona in Barceloneta, be sure to visit the one in Sitges, set right on the beach on the Passeig de la Ribera. You'll find the same menu, and boost your experience with a yoga class, the Corona Mini Market, live music, and special offers at the magic hour of sunset.
