An icon of fine dining on the central Catalonia plateau since 1945, this was, in fact an inn two centuries ago, although the Catot family, the third generation of which is at the helm now, didn’t arrive here until after the Spanish Civil War. On offer is typical high quality Catalan home-style cuisine that has evolved over time. It’s still cooked over a real coal fire though. The business was able to expand after Barça footballer Kubala stayed here in 1952 while recovering from a respiratory illness. If you pre-order they will make you dishes that are not on the menu.
