This venue is closed If you’re looking for authentic Catalan eating close to La Boqueria market, you’re in luck: the restaurant Òsties Pedrín opened in Spetember 2015 in the vicinity, a noteworthy effort at creating a go-to place for traditional regional cooking that focuses on dishes with deep roots in Barcelona. Òsties Pedrín serves chickpeas cooked with 'cansalada' (a type of bacon), Berguedà salad (made with black peas, a typical product from the northern Catalan county) and meatballs with cuttlefish – popular recipes that come with the bonus of luxurious surrounds, fine crockery and Riedel glass. One of the partners is Jaume Muedra, who owns L’Òstia restaurant and whose parents run La Bombeta bar, both in Barceloneta. ‘We want to bring back a gastronomy that fits the Barcelona palate,’ says Muedra. Òsties Pedrín has space for 100 diners in its 170m2. The wine list includes 50 Catalan and Spanish vintages, and if you dare, they encourage clients to drink wine, beer and cava from a 'porró', a glass container with a thin spout.
