Time Out says

Though the neon sign says 1984, Gelatomania opened up in Barcelona in 2012. Owner Roberta Bernasconi's life in the ice cream industry has quite the history. Originally from Lombardy, her father opened his Gelatomania in Milan in 1984, when he was 58 years old. Roberta had studied cinema previously, but was living in the Canary Islands making ice cream, when her son went to study in Barcelona. So she decided to go along with him.

Cut to the opening of Gelatomania in Barcelona, where the ice creams are fantastic, whether you opt for one of the classic flavours (there are up to 25 of them) or creations that Roberta comes up with, such as the mascarpone cream with apple. Without coming off as pretentious, she claims to have the key to a good ice cream: a good product and the balance between fat, sugar and air. Her workshop in view of customers, and the prices are friendly.
