El Diset is a rustic and elegant bar with a cosy feel thanks to all the wood in the design. It’s a perfect place to sit at ease for hours; it feels like everything is right in your world. Just next to the Passeig del Born, El Diset is an unwitting local bar for tourists, but that doesn't mean it's not also a place for those who call Barcelona home – especially those who love to show off their wine culture.
The wine list features over 60 Spanish wines, as well as varieties from France, Italy, Germany and Portugal. You're surrounded by bottle-filled fridges with all the colours in the wine rainbow: white, rose, red and sparkling. And conveniently enough, this is one of the few places in Barcelona where you can taste champagne by the glass, without having to buy the whole bottle.
Manager and sommelier Judith offers tastings every week and freely gives solicited advice about wine pairings. They have a good idea of what value means, and the snack menu doesn't come up short, featuring good matches for whatever you fancy, including artisanal cold cuts and cheeses, Iberian ham, foie, Galician octopus and other delicacies.
