Blitz (CLOSED)

Blitz – as in a killer marketing campaign and serving food quickly – is on a corner in Plaça d'Urquinaona, not historically a great place for bringing in passers-by. But now that the corner is adorned by this sandwich shop that takes the local favourite of a humble ham and cheese toasty known as the 'bikini' to a whole new level, it's a place you'll do well to go out of your way to get to. The bikini here features two gigantic slices of bread (made specially for Blitz by Forn Boix) that are served up in triangles with fillings you choose, such as the chicken with honey and mustard, cheddar, crunchy onion and prunes (vegetarians, try the smoked tofu!). They also make hot dogs, classic sandwiches, and a good cup of coffee.
