OBC + Alan Buribayev + Nelson Freire

Kazakhstan-born conductor Alan Buribayev, now resident conductor with Ireland's RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra, changes things up this weekend as he conducts the three concerts that the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya (OBC) is putting on in L'Auditori. Veteran and admired Brazilian pianist Nelson Freire is the guest soloist as they perform pieces by Blancafort ('El rapte de les sabines' – 'The Rape of the Sabine Women'), Chopin (Concerto for Piano and Orchestra no. 2) and Brahms (Symphony no. 2).
