Though there's no substitution for genius, among the few musicians Miles Davis identified as advanced disciples of his unique style is trumpet player Wallace Roney. On a tour that was a tribute to the prince of darkness, Roney was chosen to be part of the historic band formed by Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter and Tony Williams. When he started his solo career, Roney faced the difficult challenge of proving himself in the shadow of a genius – and he's managed to do just that thanks to his strong personality and restless character. The chance to see him perform live in the intimate venue of Jamboree is a privelege made even better with the band that accompanies him including drummer Lenny White (Miles Davis, Joe Henderson, Chick Corea, Marcus Miller) and bassist Buster Williams (Art Blakey, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis).
