Founded in 1988 and directed by Wynton Marsalis since 1991, the Jazz at the Lincoln Center Orchestra has spent over three decades dedicated to playing jazz music in new and exciting ways while always paying tribute to the venerable roots of jazz. Their concerts take you back in time to honour New Orleans ragtime legends like Buddy Bolden and free jazz icons like Ornette Coleman, then bring you back to the present with Cuban jazz from Rubén Blades. With a visit from such a legendary orchestra, it’s no wonder that the Voll-Damm Festival has extended far past its regular season.
