The German composer and winner of an Academy Award for the soundtrack of 'The Lion King', Hans Zimmer, is back in Barcelona after having performed in the city in April. He's at the Palau Sant Jordi to present his new world tour, The World of Hans Zimmer – A Symphonic Celebration.
You'll hear some of his most recognized pieces, which will be accompanied by images, among them scenes from films that Zimmer coloured with his music. Plus, the show features more than 100 renowned musicians and soloists such as Lisa Gerrard, known for her hypnotic vocals on the song 'Now We Are Free' from the film 'Gladiator'.
Zimmer is the musical director and creator of the concert, though he's not expected to take the stage; instead, at the helm is conductor Gavin Greenway directing the orchestra, choir, band and soloists. But don't be surprised if Zimmer shows up unannounced with his electric guitar like he did during the last concert. Anything is possible...
