The Barcelona Municipal Band in Plaça del Rei

One of Barcelona's Banda Municipal concerts that locals look the most forward to is the one they put on every July in Plaça del Rei. And if you're visiting, you're in for a treat. Everyone loves the location and the festive repertoire that welcomes summer. Salvador Brotons has been the director and conductor of the Banda these last years, and you'll see him in the act tonight as well. The programme is made up of overtures and instrumental fragments of operas by Rossini, Puccini and Wagner, as well as music from Catalan composers like Juli Garreta, Joan Lamote de Grignon, Joaquim Serra and Enric Morera.
