The 23rd year of the International Festival of Advanced Music and New Media Art in Barcelona kicks off with Sónar by Day at the Feria de Montjuïc with performances by American artist Kelela, who stands out for her versatility and perfect adaptation to current dominant trends in electronica; the original mix of tradition from the Andes and technology from adopted son of Ecuador Nicola Cruz; Canadian duo Bob Moses with their silky blend of pop and electronic music; Sheffield's 65daysofstatic, who come to the festival with their live show featuring the soundtrack they did for the videogame No Man's Sky; Chicago DJ The Black Madonna; French duo Acid Arab, where techno meets Arabic music; classical from Londoner James Rhodes, a respected pianist and author of the autobiography 'Instrumental'; and the collaboration between King Midas Sound and Fennesz, who present the experimental ambient dub of their joint album, 'Edition 1' (2015).
