The first night of Sónar at the Fira Gran Via is committed to classic names in international electronica as well as new global sensations. Legendary German group Kraftwerk brings us their new show, which adapts 3D technology to their own language and gives body and sound to the powerful imagery that has accompanied them throughout their career. Another of the night's most-anticipated acts is Californian DJ Skrillex, new mass phenomenon, who's also created a new style, the 'brostep', and a new aesthetic; this has helped to make him hugely popular, along with his frenetic activity and remixes he's done for the likes of Lady Gaga and deadmau5 and collaborations with A$AP Rocky and the soundtrack for the box-office hit 'Spring Breakers'. We'll also see Irish trio Two Door Cinema Club, one of electropop's current sensations, as they present their new album 'Beacon'; Major Lazer coming to wow with their second album 'Free the Universe'; Bat for Lashes, the epic electronica project from Anglo-Pakistani Natasha Khan, making their Sónar debut with their album 'The Haunted Man'. Kings of electronica will also be taking stage in the form of Richie Hawtin, Diplo and Nicolas Jaar.
