It's been 10 years already since the birth of ScannerFM, the city's independent music benchmark and the first online radio station to win the coveted Ondas award. To celebrate their first decade supporting music made in Barcelona and beyond they're throwing a free party with some of the top artists and labels on the music scene in Catalonia. More than four hours of pop rock and fun kick off with Renaldo & Clara (10pm), who, with the irresistible sound of Clara Viñals at the mic, made us fall at their feet ages ago with their pop that owes a little something to the Donosti Sound and 1970s British folk. Next up it's Germà Aire (10.40pm), a duo from Vic starring Luca and Andreu, who present their 'Ball del cel' (2014), an album full of cheerful and cosy darkness. Guitar riffs take centre stage with Santa Rita (11.20pm), one of the most powerful female acts in town, and with Fighter Pillow (midnight), the new project from former Me and The Bees member Eli Molina and their brand of indie topped with a double coating of punk that's reminiscent of L7 or The Breeders. Closing the night of live music are Catalonia's answer to Teenage Fanclub, Beach Beach, who will give us the pop full of crystalline guitars, saturated bass and delicious vocal harmonies from their latest album, 'The Sea' (2014). The night carries on with three decks featuring ScannerDJs until the sun comes up.
